Any personal information markwoollacott.com collects from customers will be used in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018, which supersedes and builds on the Data Protection Act 1998 and other applicable laws under English and European law. All information will remain private and will never be disclosed, except where there is a legal duty to exchange information with relevant law enforcement authorities, in the unlikely event of fraudulent customer activity. In this respect, markwoollacott.com has the legal right and sole discretion to refuse any order that it deems to be suspicious or false (e.g. from buyers using false identities and delivery addresses, or buyers seeking to use my artworks to infringe various rights, including copyright) and any payment made via PayPal will be refunded through PayPal and no artwork will be despatched.

The complete respect for my customers' privacy is extremely important as I want customers to enjoy shopping at markwoollacott.com and hope that they will shop at this site again in the future and recommend my artwork to their friends and to others they know.
At markwoollacott.com customers can order in complete confidence, which is why my chosen industry-leading online payment processing company, PayPal, will process all my customers' orders quickly, securely, professionally and provide them with a fast, safe and reliable service. No financial or personal information belonging to the customer is stored on this website and all information that is disclosed to me by PayPal after the ordering process (i.e. the customer's name, postal address and email address) is always protected by the highest levels of security encryption by PayPal. The customer's credit card or debit card information is never seen by me at any stage. Only PayPal has that information; this data is never passed on to me and is never stored on this website.
This website does not feature a contact form, an online account login function, tracking codes, advertising cookies, or input fields for online visitors to type personal contact or payment information, such as name, telephone, email, bank card numbers etc. This website does not feature an online newsletter or use a "subscribe to my newsletter" pop-up notification to collect visitors names and email addresses. This website does not gather any data from online visitors such as IP addresses - internet protocol address - that refers to the uniquely identifiable address of a device (such as a computer). Google Analytics is not used by markwoollacott.com for any data research purposes.
Previous customers can at any time write to markwoollacott.com with any new information they'd like me to update, such as a change of address or a new email address, if wishing to receive future communications from markwoollacott.com in regard to new artwork releases. Alternatively, customers can write and let me know if they do not wish to receive future communications about new releases. I have made every effort to check and test this website during its production. This website is hosted on secure servers which use powerful firewall and anti-virus programs to keep this website free from computer viruses and other cyber-related threats. However, I would advise the customer, or website visitor, to regularly run an anti-virus program on anything they download from the Internet, and would remind the customer that no website can ever be 100 per cent secure. By using this website the customer or visitor agrees not to unintentionally misuse it.
This website contains hyper-links to other websites owned and managed by third parties, such as PayPal (the online payment gateway for processing all orders of my paintings) and Fine Art America (the online payment gateway for processing all orders of my prints) and several social media websites, such as Facebook and Instagram etc. These online companies/websites will have their own website cookies that function to help provide you with a helpful online experience. These links to websites external to markwoollacott.com are known as third-party plugins and they are incorporated into my website as code obtained from the PayPal website and from the Fine Art America website, where I have registered accounts. For example: the PayPal "Pay Now" payment buttons on my "Paintings for Sale" page or "Art Class" pages each have code which uniquely identifies the title of the artwork (or art class) and its price and takes the online customer securely via an encrypted payment button to the PayPal website to make a secure payment for that specific artwork or art class, which only PayPal transacts and collects essential data on. Another plugin used at this website is the Fine Art America widget shopping cart located on the "Prints" page. All customer payments are transacted securely, with encryption, by Fine Art America and not at this website (markwoollacott.com).
As an independent artist, here at markwoollacott.com, my top priority is protecting the interests and rights of my website’s visitors in the best possible way. So that is why markwoollacott.com does not use tracking or advertising cookies and does not gather data on my website's visitors for analyzing online behaviour (identifying page visits etc.) or for marketing purposes or any other reason. I completely respect visitors privacy and prefer to keep my website as uncomplicated, transparent and as respectable as possible.
