Mark Woollacott

I was born in the United Kingdom in 1966, and although I didn't start writing until 1996, stories, ideas, and a love for words had been quietly growing in me for a long time. Since then, I've published nine books — a play, novels, and works of spiritual and inspirational writing — each one an important part of my own journey. My first work, Love Sings like the Nightingale, was an independently published play, followed not long after by my debut novel, Pray for Fey.

From the very beginning, my writing has been guided by certain themes that feel like the heartbeat of my work — beauty, divine love, and spirituality. These have been more than just subjects to me; they've been a kind of foundation, a constant source of inspiration. I believe creativity is not just a personal joy, but something that touches and shapes the lives of others in ways we might never fully see.

In 2017, I began work on what would become A Beautiful Reality (2020), a book exploring my own spiritual experiences and beliefs. While writing it, I encountered something new — what I came to call 'inspired writing'. It's hard to explain, except to say that it feels like the words come through as a peaceful, natural flow — already formed, already carrying a truth — waiting to be received rather than constructed consciously. It's not about altered states or trances; it's simply a moment when something higher and more beautiful makes its way into the writing. This experience shaped not only A Beautiful Reality, but also Love Would Say (2019) and Dream of Peace, Be at Peace (2020). That last book was written for anyone facing life's heavier seasons — depression, anxiety, loss, loneliness, and change — offering encouragement to find strength and move forward.

In 2022, I released three books very close to my heart: New-born Sky, You Are Divine, and Visions. Visions shares my mystical experiences from the mid-1980s to early 2022, moments that deepened my faith and inspired my creative life. New-born Sky focuses on the visions I received of Lord Jesus Christ and Our Gracious Lady Mary Magdalene, and You Are Divine reflects on the divine spark within us all, and how we might nurture greater peace in our lives.

Later that year came This Twilight Garden, a spiritual autobiographical novel told as a journey, with a love story at its centre.

Today, I'm working on a new book of spiritual writings, continuing to follow wherever inspiration leads me. Away from the page, I'm also an artist, creating paintings often inspired by the coastline — its beauty, its changing light, its quiet sense of wonder.

For me, whether through words or paint, creativity is a way of exploring what is sacred and meaningful, and sharing a little of that beauty with others.

I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to you for visiting my website and spending your precious time exploring my work. In today's busy world, I know how many demands compete for your attention, and the fact that you chose to be here — reading my words — means more to me than I can ever truly convey.

When I write, I pour a piece of my heart, my thoughts and my hopes into every chapter. My greatest wish is that my books will not only interest you, but also inspire, comfort or spark new perspectives in your life. Knowing that you have opened your mind and heart to my words (or to any inspired writings I received) is the highest honour I could receive as an author.

Every word I write is an offering, born from my heart with the hope that it might stir something in yours. My dream is that my stories and reflections will speak to the deeper parts of your soul, reminding you of truths you already carry, awakening courage you thought you'd lost, or rekindling a light that may have dimmed.

So thank you for your curiosity, your time and your willingness to journey with me through the worlds I've created. I hope you leave my books feeling a little more inspired, encouraged and connected to the stories we all share as human beings. Your support keeps my passion alive, and for that, I will always be grateful. Your presence here is not only appreciated — it is cherished.
