Motivation and Inspiration
I've always believed that motivation and inspiration are two of the quiet forces that keep us moving forward in life. There are days when everything feels easy, when we're full of energy and purpose — and then there are days when just getting started feels like climbing a mountain. That's where motivation comes in. It's that little spark inside us that says, 'Keep going. You can do this.' Without it, even the simplest tasks can sometimes feel heavy and burdensome like a trial we would rather not do. With it, we find strength we didn't know we had.
Inspiration, on the other hand, feels a bit like sunlight breaking through the clouds. It's what reminds us why we started in the first place — what gives our efforts meaning. For me, inspiration often comes from sensing something mystical from within (something profoundly beautiful and meaningful, perceived at a higher level of awareness), but also from seeing others in the world do something beautiful or brave, or from noticing the small wonders in everyday life. It reconnects me with the bigger picture and helps me remember that there is a purpose behind all the effort.
Both motivation and inspiration feed each other. Motivation helps me take the next step, while inspiration helps me see where that path might lead. When I nurture both, I find that my life feels richer, more intentional, and certainly more hopeful. The best part, is that they can be shared: a kind word, a story, or even a small act of kindness can light that same spark in someone else. It knows no bounds.
Patience and Peacefulness
I've come to realize over time that patience and peacefulness are two of the most valuable qualities we can cultivate. Life has a way of testing us — plans get delayed, people don't always act the way we hope, and sometimes progress feels painfully slow. In those moments, I've learned that patience isn't just about waiting; it's about how we wait. When I'm patient, I'm giving myself the grace to breathe, to trust that things will unfold when they're meant to. It helps me move through challenges without adding unnecessary frustration or anxiety on top of what's already there.
Peacefulness, to me, goes hand in hand with patience. It's not about living a life free from noise or problems, but about finding calm in the middle of it all. When I make the effort to stay peaceful — to pause before reacting, to listen instead of rushing to respond — I notice that everything feels more manageable. My mind becomes clearer, my relationships feel softer, and even the hard days don't seem quite so heavy. Peace doesn't mean nothing is happening; it means I've learned to stay centered no matter what's happening.
I try to remind myself that patience and peacefulness aren't things we master overnight. They're practices — gentle ones that grow with time and intention. Some days I succeed, other days I stumble, but each time I choose calm over chaos, I feel a little stronger. In a world that often pushes us to move faster and react quicker, slowing down and staying peaceful can feel like an act of quiet courage. And honestly, I think that's something we could all use a bit more of.
Feeling Free With Peace
You will find that inner peace starts to grow when you are honest with yourself about what you are holding inside. For a long time, you might have carried around old feelings — anger, resentment, jealousy, even a sense of being treated unfairly — and didn't realize how much they were weighing you down. When you finally take the time to look within and face those emotions, not to judge them but to understand them, you will begin to feel lighter. Letting go does not happen all at once, but each time you release a bit of that old pain, you make more room inside for calm and clarity. It's almost like clearing out a cluttered space: once the weight of the past is gone, there's finally room for peace to settle in and for you to move forward with a freer heart.
How The Book Came to Be
On the evening of June 6th, 2020, the idea for Dream of Peace, Be at Peace came to me. It was something I had been thinking about for a while, but in that quiet hour, I felt a deeper pull to begin writing something that could bring comfort to others. I thought about all the people who might be struggling silently — with depression, stress, anxiety, bereavement, poverty, loneliness, fear, or low confidence — and I wanted to create something that could speak directly to their hearts. The idea was simple yet profound: to write words that would soothe, uplift, and inspire anyone who reads them, reminding them that peace and happiness are still within reach, even in difficult times.
As I sat with the idea, I realized that this book would have to come from a place of sincerity and compassion. I didn't want it to feel forced or overly polished — I wanted each word to carry warmth and authenticity, like a gentle hand on the shoulder. My hope is that every sentence in Dream of Peace, Be at Peace will feel like a quiet reassurance, a soft reminder that no one is ever truly alone, and that healing and peace can slowly find their way back into our lives.
When I began writing the book, my thoughts at that time were that I would love for every word in this book to flow naturally and be the result of inspired, heartfelt writing. I knew I would not be able to control exactly how it would all unfold — writing, after all, was as much a process of discovery as it was of creation. But I came to trust that if I wrote with an open heart and a genuine wish to help others, the words would come as they were meant to.
There are passages of inspired writing in this book, just as there are in some of my other books, that help to express a genuine understanding of hope and how it can prevail in a wonderful way, with outlooks bright and peaceful for everyone concerned. My deepest hope now, is that this book will become a small light for anyone who needs one, a source of comfort and encouragement during their most difficult moments.
